Goa Police’s Anti-Narcotic Cell officials on Wednesday night raided a house at Fatirwada, Morjim and seized drugs worth Rs 1.5 lakh. They also arrested a Russian national.
“A search was conducted and 15 grams of MDMA (Methylene dioxy methamphetamine) worth Rs 1.5 lakh was seized from the house we raided”, a police official said.
Police got a tip-off that a foreign national staying in a rented house at Morjim is involved in the sale as well as consumption of
narcotic drugs.
Acting on the information, a team of the ANC including Police Sub-inspectors Manjunath Naik, Sachin Narvekar, Rohan Nageshkar and police constables Sushant Pagi, Mayur Gawde, Dhavlisab Akhtar, Devanand Parab and Lady constable Vencia Fernandes, conducted the raid on the premises. They arrested the Russian national who identified himself as Constantine Esaieve. He is 27-years-old, police said.
A case had been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the National Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Also, Pernem’s Judicial Magistrate First Class, has remanded Constantine to five days
police custody.
